DR. BUCHER: Crowns are for people that have structural and/or cosmetic issues with the tooth. They need to be placed on a tooth that just has so much filling in a tooth that there’s nothing left to hold anything into anymore, or that want to change their smile. The CEREC allows us to treat the patient in one visit. There’s no impressions. There’s no temporaries to wear. There’s no second visit. They come in, and everything is done when they leave.

Almost instantly it takes a tooth that may be beat up, worn, have structural problems, and it will just turn the tooth back into what it looked like when it came into their mouth. It can be lighter, brighter, if they want to change the shade of their teeth, but it allows us, in on visit, to go in and accomplish all this for the patient. Restoring someone’s smile with crowns or veneers, any way that you do it, really gives someone a lot of self-confidence. They’re not embarrassed anymore by the way they look. They’re a lot more outgoing. They’re much more confident about their appearance and their self-esteem. And it gives them a lot of self-esteem back.
